🔹 HB 170 – Kyle’s Law (Rep. Guillen): Grants civil immunity to Texans who lawfully defend themselves.
Reported favorably as substituted by the House Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence Committee on March 26.

🔹 SB 1730 – Kyle’s Law (Sen. Hall): Senate companion to HB 170.
Passed the Senate. Awaiting House action.

🔹 HB 2879 – Aleah’s Law (Rep. Isaac): Protects renters from eviction when using lawful self-defense.
Placed on the General State Calendar for May 15.

🔹 HB 3053 (Rep. Virdell): Prohibits municipal and county firearm buyback programs that aim to remove firearms from circulation, reduce civilian ownership, or allow anonymous firearm sales.
Passed the House on May 13 with strong support; now awaiting Senate consideration.

🔹 HB 2458 (Rep. Virdell): Establishes a legal defense to prosecution for aggravated assault when force is justified.
Passed the House on May 13; referred to the Senate Criminal Justice Committee on May 14.

🔹 SB 1065 (Sen. Hall): Stops the disarming of gun owners on public property leased to private entities (like the State Fair).
Passed the Senate — awaiting House vote.

🔹 HB 1085 (Rep. Curry): Promotes hunting safety and outdoor education in public high schools by offering a lifetime recreation and outdoor pursuits course to satisfy PE requirements.
